Mom's Big CatchFrom Marla:

I visit a lot of schools and meet with kids of all ages. They talk about so many different things, and it’s so fun to hear the questions they come up with.  I just love it and wanted to share a few of them with you!

Q: What is your favorite part of Mom’s Big Catch?

A: I like to tell them the surprise ending of course!  That’s usually the kids’ favorite part too!

Q: What is your favorite book?oh-the-places-youll-go

A: I love Oh the Places You’ll Go by Dr. Seuss  It has a positive and inspirational message for all of us!

Q: How old are you?

A: The teachers tell me I don’t have to answer this but it always makes me smile…then they ask me when I was born and that date is September 29 which is the date of the actual event that inspired Mom’s Big Catch, September 29, 2007! What a great gift!

Q: Who is your favorite baseball player?

A: I am happy to say that I have always liked Geoff Jenkins who inspiredMom’s Big Catch. I also like Fergie Jenkins who is a class act!  I have lots of favorite players on all kinds of teams!

Q: What is your favorite food at the ballpark?

A: I love nachos with all kinds of yummy stuff on top.

Q: How long did it take you to write Mom’s Big Catch?

A: I got up in the middle of the night and wrote the book…it maybe only took and hour or two to write the story but it went through many drafts before it was published.

Q: Are you working on another book?

A: Yes, I am excited to say that Sadie’s Big Steal will be out soon!.

Q: What kind of dog is Sadie?

A: Sadie is a Maltipoo which is a Maltese/Poodle mix.

Q: Do you like cats too?

A: Yes, I love all animals. Dogs just hold a special place in my heart.

Q: Can you please sign the boys’ books with hearts instead of smiley faces asked one kindergartener?

A: I am so happy to sign the books to all the kids…it is my favorite thing to see them smile!

Q: Can I be an author?

A: Absolutely, I tell the kids! They an be whatever they want to be in life. They should follow their dreams and never be afraid to ask anything. Questions are good!
